RING ROAD BYPASS, DELHI

Client: Public Works Department
Capital Value Rs. 6 crores
Scope: 4.5km long high speed corridor and a clover leaf intersection

The Ring Road Bypass – a unique opportunity to create a landscape to knit together the heritage of the Red fort and Salimgarh Fort with the rich biodiversity and riverine ecosystem of the Yamuna.Context specific interventions were proposed with land art in two segments of the clover leaf and two segments naturalised with one incorporating a sewage treatment plant and the other developed as a wetland habitat on the river’s edge. Bespoke elements were developed to give an unique identity and ‘designed’ aesthetic to a predominantly naturalised landscape.
